Description: The "rainbow" coating is a halogen-resistant surface treatment called AMC2286 (from Advanced Materials Coatings Express) that completely encapsulates the stainless steel from metal-sensitive liquids that fall at extreme ends of the pH range. It coats both the ID and OD of the needle. Overlook has used the "rainbow" coating to successfully dispense 20% HCl.

Overlook utilizes the AMC2286 coating on filler needles designed for metal-sensitive products that may interact negatively with 316L stainless steel.

The AMC2286 coating covers the entire ID and OD of the filler needle, encapsulating it in a protective barrier that preserves the 316L stainless steel from corrosion due to metal-sensitive products while simultaneously adding a Teflon-like hydrophobic quality to the surface finish.

The color variation seen on a "rainbow" coated filler needle is caused by a difference in coating thickness of only a couple atoms and a slight variation in the reflectiveness and refractiveness of each coating layer. It does not affect the performance of the coating.
